After much anticipation and excitement, the public was graced with Deadpool 2, the sequel to the film with our favorite wise-cracking anti-hero, Wade Wilson aka Deadpool.

But, before I go into the review I have to put a disclaimer here:

Following the controversy and the thousands of internet complaints regarding the first Deadpool’s R-rating, Deadpool 2 is much worse in that regard and is definitely not a family friendly movie. While it may be a “family movie” as said by Deadpool himself, it’s not a family friendly movie. Deadpool 2 throws around the c-word multiple times and includes a quick dick shot. To each their own, but I would highly advise against taking your children to see this movie.

And with that out of the way, I’m going to get into the review.

Deadpool 2 was a much needed movie after the emotional destruction left by Avengers: Infinity War. With that being said, the release of Deadpool 2 after Infinity War may have warped your view of the movie. The two are vastly different movies, and in my opinion, Marvel did a fantastic job with both.

Unfortunately, like Infinity War, there isn’t a whole lot I can really say about what happens throughout Deadpool 2 without spoiling it, but I’ll try my best.

Deadpool 2 was hilarious, and in my opinion, it was probably funnier than the original. Once the first Deadpool was deemed a success, Deadpool 2 went all out with its references and insults, and boy were there plenty of them, each one funnier than the last. Many of them caught me off guard, making them funnier.

The soundtrack is absolutely amazing. Whether you’ve seen the movie or not, you should give the soundtrack a listen, and if my word alone isn’t enough, try “Acoustic Version Take On Me by a-ha.” It will change your life.

Colossus and Negasonic Teenage Warhead are back, and if you liked them in the first Deadpool, you’ll love them in Deadpool 2 (especially Colossus).

There are a whole bunch of new characters who are pretty great in one way or another, and they have such a strange dynamic. I guarantee you’ll have a favorite by the time you leave the theatre.

And speaking of leaving, if you’re not in the habit of staying until the end of the credits with Marvel movies, do yourself a favor and stay until the end with Deadpool 2. From the post credits scenes to the soundtrack, you’ll thank us later. They are extremely entertaining and you won’t want to miss them.

Overall, I enjoyed Deadpool 2, and I think if you enjoyed the first one, you’ll like the sequel. For me, it was a perfect follow up from Infinity War, and it makes me more excited for what Marvel has in-store for the future.
